Privacy Policy

This page is for Editsay's website and customers. Readers of news sites built on Editsay should see that publication's own privacy policy.

Effective 14 October 2026. It explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Editsay provides a platform for publishers to run their own news sites, with AI-assisted drafting and social posting.

Editsay, based in Hyderabad, India, is responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at hello@editsay.com.

What we collect

Details you send us

When you contact us we collect what you give us. That can include your name, phone number, email address, the name of your publication or outlet, your city, and your message. It reaches us through:

  • the enquiry form on this website, which asks for your name, email, publication, market and language, the plan you are interested in, and your message;
  • email to hello@editsay.com;
  • WhatsApp;
  • lead forms in our ads on Instagram, Facebook and X.

Usage data

When analytics or the Meta Pixel is enabled on this site, it records the pages you visit, your device and browser, your approximate location, and the page that sent you here. It does this with cookies and similar identifiers. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and browser details.

Account data

If you sign up for the product, we keep the details needed to run your account: the names and email addresses of the people who use it, your login details, the publication you set up and the content you create, and your billing records.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and book a demo.
  • To run our advertising and measure how well it works.
  • To improve this website and the product.
  • To provide the service to customers and bill for it.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

Cookies and advertising

At the time of writing, this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. We plan to add them for our ad campaigns.

When they are enabled:

  • analytics cookies tell us which pages people visit and how they found us;
  • the Meta Pixel tells Meta when someone who saw our ad on Facebook or Instagram visits this site. We use that to measure our ads and to show our ads again to people who have visited.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can control the ads Meta shows you in your Meta ad preferences.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers who help us run Editsay:

  • hosting (Vercel for this website);
  • email (Web3Forms delivers the enquiry form; Cloudflare and Google handle our email);
  • analytics, when enabled;
  • Meta and X, as advertising platforms;
  • a payment processor, if you pay us through one.

We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiry data: up to 24 months after we last heard from you.
  • Account data: for as long as your account is open, and after that for as long as the law requires us to keep it.
  • Analytics data: for the period set by the analytics provider by default.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it, where you had given consent and now withdraw it.

You can also raise a complaint with us. Email hello@editsay.com for any of these, and we will reply.

Children

This website and the product are not meant for anyone under 18.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
